1. Who we are and what this policy covers
California Airduct Pros ("California Airduct Pros," "we," "us," or "our") provides air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, chimney services, duct replacement, mold remediation and related indoor air quality services to residential and commercial customers throughout the State of California.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at californiaairductpros.com, through our telephone and text messaging channels, and in the course of providing our services; how we use it; who we disclose it to; and the rights and choices you have. It applies to all visitors to our website and to all customers and prospective customers in the United States.
Please read this policy together with our Terms of Use, which govern your use of this website and our services.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to your request, schedule and perform work, meet our legal obligations, and improve our services. The categories below use the classifications set out in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA").
| Category | Examples of what we collect | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Your name, telephone number, email address, the city or service address where work is requested, and your internet protocol (IP) address. | To contact you, prepare an estimate, schedule a visit, and route your request to the appropriate crew. |
| Customer records | Service history, appointment dates, work performed, before-and-after documentation of your system, and billing records. | To perform and document the services you request and to honor any workmanship commitments. |
| Commercial information | Services requested or purchased, quotes issued, and your stated preferences (for example, the service you selected and the best time to reach you). | To fulfill your request and maintain our business records. |
| Internet and network activity | Pages viewed, the page you arrived on, the referring website, approximate time on site, browser type and operating system, and interactions with our forms. | To operate and secure the website, measure which pages are useful, and diagnose faults. |
| Advertising identifiers | Click identifiers passed to us by advertising platforms — including Google Ads identifiers (gclid, wbraid, gbraid), Meta identifiers (fbclid, _fbp, _fbc) and Microsoft identifiers (msclkid) — together with campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content). | To understand which advertisement or campaign brought you to us and to measure whether our advertising is working. |
| Geolocation (approximate) | The general region derived from your IP address, and the service city you tell us. | To confirm we serve your area and to assign a local crew. We do not collect precise GPS location from your device. |
| Audio | Call recordings, where a call is recorded and where all parties have consented as required by California law. | Quality assurance, training, and keeping an accurate record of what was agreed. |
| Inferences | Limited conclusions such as the service you are likely to need, drawn from the information above. | To make our response to you relevant and useful. |
Sensitive personal information
We do not seek, and we ask that you do not send us, sensitive personal information. We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's licence or state identification numbers, passport numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, genetic or biometric data, or information concerning health or sex life. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require us to offer a right to limit its use under the CCPA.
If you choose to describe a health concern in a free-text message field — for example, mentioning allergies or asthma as the reason for a cleaning — we use that information only to understand and perform your service request, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Where we get it
- Directly from you — when you complete an estimate or contact form, call or text us, email us, or speak with a technician.
- Automatically from your device — through cookies and similar technologies described in section 6.
- From advertising and analytics partners — when you arrive from an advertisement, the platform appends a click identifier to the web address.
- From people acting for you — for example, a property manager, landlord, family member or contractor who arranges service on your behalf.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare a free estimate, and answer questions.
- To schedule, perform, document and follow up on the services you request.
- To invoice you and keep accurate financial and warranty records.
- To communicate with you about an appointment, including reminders and arrival notifications.
- To send you information about our services where you have asked us to, and to stop sending it as soon as you tell us to.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, so that we spend our advertising budget on campaigns that genuinely reach California homeowners.
- To maintain the security and integrity of our website, and to detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not use your personal information to make decisions about you by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use your personal information to train artificial intelligence models.
5. Text messages and phone calls
If you give us your telephone number and check the consent box on our form, or otherwise ask us to contact you, we may call or send text messages to that number regarding your estimate, your appointment, and the services you asked about.
We do not share mobile opt-in data. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as customer service providers, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Consent to receive marketing calls or text messages is not a condition of purchase of any goods or services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, and you can reply HELP for assistance. Full messaging terms, including supported carriers and our carrier liability disclaimer, are set out in section 7 of our Terms of Use.
Calls to or from us may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance and training. California is a two-party consent state, and where a call is recorded you will be notified at the start of the call and may decline recording and continue the call, or ask us to communicate with you in writing instead.
6. Cookies, pixels and advertising identifiers
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the website to function and to protect our forms from automated abuse. These cannot be switched off.
- Attribution — we set a first-party cookie named
a2u_attr, which stores the campaign parameters and click identifier that brought you to the site, the page you arrived on, and the referring website. It is retained for up to 90 days so that if you return and request an estimate later, we can still tell which advertisement earned your enquiry. - Advertising and analytics — we use the Meta pixel, which sets the
_fbpand_fbccookies, and Google advertising services. These allow Meta Platforms, Inc. and Google LLC to recognise your browser, measure conversions, and, unless you opt out, show you advertisements on their platforms.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.
Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). If your browser or extension transmits a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information from that browser, and we will not load advertising identifiers or share them with advertising platforms from that browser. Because a GPC signal is browser-specific, you will need to enable it on each browser and device you use.
7. When we disclose information
We disclose personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
- Service professionals and subcontractors — the technicians and crews who carry out your service receive the details necessary to reach you and complete the work.
- Service providers — companies that host our website, deliver our email and text messages, operate our customer relationship management system, and provide telephone services. They act on our instructions, are bound by contract to protect the information, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Advertising platforms — as described in section 8.
- Professional advisers — our accountants, insurers and lawyers, where required.
- Legal and safety — where we are required by law, subpoena or court order, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our staff or the public.
- Business transfers — if our business is sold or merged, personal information may transfer to the acquirer, subject to this policy.
8. Sale and sharing, and how to opt out
We do not sell personal information for money. However, under the CCPA the term "sharing" covers disclosing personal information to an advertising partner for cross-context behavioural advertising, and our use of the Meta pixel and Google advertising services falls within that definition. The categories involved are identifiers (such as online identifiers and IP address) and internet activity. The categories of recipients are advertising platforms, currently Meta Platforms, Inc. and Google LLC.
You have the right to opt out. Using the button below sets a first-party opt-out preference on this browser, which stops advertising identifiers being collected or transmitted from it. This is the same outcome as sending a Global Privacy Control signal.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
This applies to the browser you are using now. It does not require an account and we do not ask you to identify yourself to use it.
You may also submit a request by telephone or email using the details in section 17, and you may use an authorised agent as described in section 9.
We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
9. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the following rights:
- Right to know — to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it, covering the 12-month period before your request, and beyond that period where it is not impossible or disproportionately difficult for us to provide it.
- Right to delete — to request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to the exceptions in the statute (for example, where we must keep records to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or defend a legal claim).
- Right to correct — to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — exercised through section 8 above.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right, so no separate link is required.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide you a lesser quality of service because you exercised any of these rights. We do not offer financial incentives for personal information.
How to make a request
Call us on +1 (866) 311-8118 or email info@californiaairductpros.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." Tell us which right you wish to exercise.
To protect your information, we must verify your identity before acting on a request to know, delete or correct. We will ask you to provide the telephone number or email address you used with us and to confirm two data points that match our records, such as the service city and the approximate date of your enquiry. For requests to delete or to know specific pieces of information, we may ask for a signed declaration under penalty of perjury. We use the information you give us for verification only.
We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and take no more than a further 45 days. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we will tell you before doing anything.
Authorised agents
You may use an authorised agent. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity with us directly or to confirm that you granted the agent permission, unless the agent holds a valid power of attorney.
Shine the Light
California Civil Code section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
10. Rights in other U.S. states
If you reside in a state with a comprehensive privacy law — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and Delaware, among others — you have broadly similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Some of these states also give you the right to appeal a refusal. Use the contact details in section 17, and if we decline your request you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will respond to an appeal within 45 days and will tell you how to contact your state Attorney General if you remain dissatisfied.
11. Rights under Israeli law
Where the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741–1981 and the regulations made under it apply to our processing, the following additional terms apply.
- You are not legally obliged to give us your personal information. You provide it of your own free will, so that we can respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for. Without it we cannot contact you or schedule work.
- You have the right to inspect the information held about you, and to request that information which is incorrect, incomplete, unclear or out of date be corrected or deleted.
- You may ask us in writing to remove your details from any database used for direct mailing or direct marketing purposes, and we will do so.
- We apply the information security duties set out in the Privacy Protection (Data Security) Regulations, 5777–2017, proportionate to the sensitivity and volume of the information we hold.
Requests under this section may be sent to info@californiaairductpros.com. Our services are directed to residents of California and are not offered to individuals located in Israel or the European Economic Area.
12. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, and then for as long as we are required to keep it.
- Enquiries that do not become jobs — up to 24 months from your last contact with us.
- Customer and service records — for the duration of our relationship and then for 4 years, which reflects the California limitation period for actions on a written contract.
- Invoices and financial records — 7 years, to meet tax record-keeping requirements.
- Records of consent to be contacted, and of opt-out requests — at least 5 years, because we are required to be able to evidence consent and to honor opt-outs.
- Attribution cookies — up to 90 days on your device.
- Website server logs — up to 12 months.
When a retention period ends we delete the information or irreversibly de-identify it.
13. How we protect information
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. These include encryption of our website in transit using TLS, access controls that limit personal information to staff who need it to do their job, rate limiting and automated abuse protection on our forms, and storage of lead records outside the publicly accessible area of our web server. We review these measures periodically.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us payment card details, government identification numbers or passwords by email or through a web form. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by California Civil Code sections 1798.29 and 1798.82 and any other applicable law.
14. Children
Our website and services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
15. International transfers
We are based in California and process personal information in the United States. Some of our service providers may process information in other countries. Where that happens, we require by contract that the information receives a level of protection consistent with this policy and with applicable law.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will give prominent notice on the website, and where required by law we will obtain your consent. Please review this page periodically.
